Espra is a character on CrystalMUSH, an online game based on the Crystal Singer series of books by Anne McCaffrey. All Crystal characters are property of Anne McCaffrey. Espra is a creation of her player for use only on CrystalMUSH, and does in no way reflect any of the characters created by Ms. McCaffrey.
History
Espra was born on the planet Draxil, the only daughter and second child of Oanar, a farrier, and Blissima, an animal healer. Draxil's particular culture is an interesting mixture of medievalism and technology. Espra's parents assumed that, like her brother Scamren, she would apprentice to one of them. However, Espra's talents lay elsewhere- she loved music with a painful intensity, and she apprenticed as a bard, warmly encouraged by her family. Her master, Pronin, was perfect, as far as Espra was concerned. He was demanding- she loved the challenges he gave her- but fair. Unfortunately, she was totally oblivious to the fact that he was simply waiting for her to grow up, so that she could be his, in every way. She rose to the rank of journeywoman easily enough, and on the night before she was to take her mastery exams, she discovered Pronin's motives. When she, in shock, rejected his advances, he primly informed her that if she did not give in to him, he would make sure she never made master rank. Indignant, she left both Pronin and the life of a bard. Of course, that's when she learned that she wasn't really suited to any other occupation on Draxil, so she left the planet. Her parents gave her a small sum, and she spent the next few years judiciously planet hopping, trying to find her place in the galaxy. She was almost out of money when she heard about the Heptite Guild. It seemed challenging enough to appeal to her, so she spent almost all of her last credits for a trip to Shankill.
At least, that's what she tells everybody. She conveniently forgets to mention such things as the DIS...
Appearance
She moves smoothly, seeming to glide as she walks along. Her nut brown hair barely stirs to her motions. It's pulled back into an intricate knot at the back of her head, flowing down from there to rest softly on her shoulders with not a trace of curl. She stands around five and a half feet high, with an average build for her average height. Grey eyes, a long narrow nose, and a small mouth are featured in her annoyingly round face. She's in her mid-twenties. Espra wears a well-cut jumpsuit of dark red material. The zipper at the front of its jacket is open, revealing a tight shoulderless shirt beneath. Black trimming squirms its way in intricate designs along the neckline. Black boots and a utility belt complete the outfit.
